Formerly an ice cream shop and restaurant, this one-stop happiness shop now features candy, ice cream and baked goodies. Plus, the new design is as dreamy as the 30-plus ice cream fl avors on the menu. 8 INDULGE IN FRESH SEAFOOD Tybee-style, at The Crab Shack at Chimney Creek. This quirky restaurant features indoor-outdoor sea ng, an aviary and live alligators in its on-site lagoon. But it's the menu — think Lowcountry boils, Brunswick stew and deviled blue crab served with potatoes and slaw — that's made it an enduring local favorite for decades. 9 TAKE IN A SHOW at Tybee Post Theater. The U.S. Army built the theater in 1930 for the soldiers sta oned at Fort Screven, making it one of the fi rst theaters in the state equipped to show "talkies." Today, this historic, beau fully restored Greek Revival-style theater features music from local and na onal acts, live theater and dance performances, movie screenings and more. 10 MEET SOME LOCAL ARTISTS AND ARTISANS at The Shoppes at 1207. Leave room in your suitcase for one-of-a-kind beachy fi nds from clothing and jewelry to art and aromatherapy products from this deligh ul string of shops along U.S. Highway 80 East. 11 PACK A PICNIC for Jaycee Park. This 8.5-acre park, located at the intersec on of Campbell Road and Van Horne Avenue and within walking distance of the beach has lighted soccer and so ball fi elds, an outdoor basketball court and even a pickleball court. (Players must bring their own net.) There are also restroom facili es, a concession stand, a scenic meandering waterway, a half-mile jogging track, a gazebo, children's play equipment and a grilling and picnic area. ACCESSIBILITY Tybee Island's beaches and a rac ons are here for everyone to enjoy, no ma er their mobility. The island has Mobi-Mats (mobility mats) along the beach at the North Beach Mid Lot Crossover, Second Avenue Crossover and the 16th Street Crossover for easy, hassle-free access. The island also off ers various transporta on op ons and routes for every ability, from golf carts to bikes to running and walking trails for exercise and exploring.
