PUBLIC FISHING PIERS Cast your line at one of the three public fi shing piers: Lazare o Creek Pier, Fisherman's Walk at Back River Beach and the Tybee Island Pier and Pavilion. Although it's free to fi sh from the piers, a Georgia fi shing license is required. Licenses can be purchased online at the Georgia Department of Natural Resources Wildlife Resource Division (or call or 800.366.2661) or in-person at Chu's Convenience Mart on North Campbell Avenue. In addi on, a free SIP (Saltwater Informa on Program) permit is required for fi shing in saltwater. FISHING SUPPLIES Need to rent supplies for a few hours? There are shops where you can purchase bait, tackle, ice, rods and reels, though a fi shing charter comes with the convenience of a boat and a local fi sherman's knowledge. LOCAL CATCH OF THE DAY Reel in red drum, black drum, mackerel, s ngray, bass, fl ounder, speckled trout and shellcrackers. When your cooler has been fi lled, head to one of several restaurants where they will cook your catch. Rent a board or take a tour around Li le Tybee Island with East Coast Paddleboarding, Savannah and Tybee Island's fi rst and only dedicated paddleboarding school and outfi er. BOAT: Charter a ride with Crab Creek Charters Private Boat Tours to see dolphins and the Cockspur Lighthouse, explore Li le Tybee, visit Daufuskie Island or cruise the Savannah River. CATCH THE WIND SAILBOAT: Raise the mainsail for an unforge able experience with Compass Sailing.
