CONTINUING THE VISION Block House Racing Wins Pro Stock UTV in Ken Block’s Honor By Dan Sanchez Photos by Get Some Photo   Winning the SCORE Pro Stock UTV class at the 56th BFGoodrich Tires SCORE Baja 1000 Presented by K&N, Lucy and her daughter Lia Block cheered on the podium in honor of husband, dad, NS professional rally driver, Ken Block. Since his sudden death in January of 2023, this was the first time Block’s family and friends participated in a SCORE Baja race, and it was a finish that would have made him proud.  Aided by Rodrigo Ampudia and Terry Madden, the No. 3943K Can-Am completed the grueling 1300-plus miles with a time of 35:50:38, beating the rest of the class field by almost two hours. “We’re happy to be here and help the family represent Ken and 43 Institute,” said Rodrigo Ampudia. “Both Lucy and Lia have lots of experience, and it was important for them to finish in honor of Ken.” The team drove the vehicle to raise awareness of the Block 43 Institute. “We started 43 Institute in honor of Ken, a foundation dedicated to creating paths of opportunity for the exceptionally driven, who may lack the proper support system for growth and success,” said Lucy Block. “After the race, the Can-Am will be auctioned off at the Mecum event in Kissimmee, Florida.”  43 Institute’s mission statement states that it “aims to open the door of opportunity to the network of creatives, business leaders, marketing experts, top-level athletes, and artists that Ken has built in his decades-long career, providing grants and support to make dreams happen.”  More information on 43 Institute in memory of Ken Block, can be found here: https://www.43i.org/ SJ
