THE BOLIVIAN CHAMP Juan Carlos Salvatierra Conquered The SCORE Pro Moto Championship For All Latinos By Gabriel García   Since he was a child, Juan Carlos Salvatierra hoped to race in a SCORE Baja 1000, a dream he fulfilled in 2020. However, in 2023, he achieved something that no South American had ever done, winning the SCORE Pro Moto Unlimited Championship two-years in a row. As a two-time champion of the Pro Moto Unlimited category, “Chavo,” the most well-known Bolivian racer in the sport, highlights his pride by carrying the colors of the flag of his country as he made his way up as one of the top racers in off-roading. In doing so, he also declares that he is a proud voice for Latinos in the sport.  In obtaining the newest crown achieved by the Chavo Salvatierra Racing team, Salvatierra also gave credit to the work done by Zack Wiley of The Racers Edge in preparing the 1x KTM 450SX-F motorcycle. The suspension was also set up masterfully by Damon of WP USA and Mike of Taco Moto, who became another critical piece for the win and championship.  Salvatierra clearly indicated that the 56th SCORE Baja 1000 race was the most complicated of the four races in 2023. Due to health issues, some of his riders were unavailable in La Paz, so Shane Logan and Diego Llanos had to ride more miles than expected, which was not part of their original plan.  Companies like KTM and Herbalife were crucial to the 2023 racing program. Additional help from new sponsors and the aid of family members supported the 1x team all the way, as well as their mechanics Zack, Vladimir, and Robert, plus “KP” Vega, Ruben, Chesco, Hiram, Michael, Larry, Felipe, Eric and Lupe.  “We made more history in SCORE International, as we won the overall of the SCORE Baja 1000 for Latin America,” said Salvaterria. “We repeated as champions in our class, and in 2024, we are going again for the 1x for our people of Bolivia, Argentina, and Mexico. We will prove again that Latinos are champions in this sport too.” SJ
