Golomski. "There's a huge legacy of
speedskating in Milwaukee going back to
the 1930s, and our site is actually on the
same property as an outdoor oval prop-
erty from 1967 to 1992.
"Names like Eric Heiden, Bonnie Blair
and Dan Jansen all really got their start
in Milwaukee, so there's a lot of history
behind speedskating here."
As such, Pettit National Ice Center is the
official training site for US Speedskating,
hosting regional, national and interna-
tional competitions, including the 2018
and 2022 Olympic Trials. The facility will
also host the 2026 Olympic Trials.
