Page 9 | The Remuda | SPRING 2024 EDITION Greetings colleagues! As we enter this new year, we are excited to share the incredible continuing education offering that we have lined up for you in 2024. The Boutique CE Meeting is being planned by Dr. David Dutton and will be a "Master Class in Equine Rehabilitation" with Dr. Sherry Johnson. We are grateful to partner with Sound, Boehringer-Ingelheim, and Platinum to bring this meeting to you all at the Texas Tech University School of Veterinary Medicine. You won't want to miss out on this one. Space is limited, so register early! The Summer CE Symposium is being planned by Dr. Michelle Bessire, our President-Elect. She has several fantastic speakers lined up, including Drs. Kurt Selburg, Keri Bevevino, Dickson Varner, and Noah Cohen. We are grateful to all who take the time to fill out the surveys at symposium each year. We read every single one and Dr. Bessire has implemented many of your recommendations for this year. The TEVA Board recently met for a strategy session and one of the decisions made was to increase membership rates. This will be the first rate increase in the history of TEVA. We have worked hard to keep the rates as low as possible, the camaraderie unmatched, and the continuing education outstanding. But the board decided it was time to make a small increase. If you have a current TEVA membership, you should have received an email from Sara and Blaine stating that your membership at the old rate was canceled and a new one will need to be purchased, reflecting the new rates. If you have any questions or trouble accessing your account, don't hesitate to reach out to Sara or Blaine directly. On that same note, we will also be increasing the price for the Gala tickets this year. The cost of the dinner exceeds $100 per plate for food alone so we are increasing the ticket price to $75 per person, to help us offset some of those expenses. All ticket holders will still receive their two free drink tickets at the door and can expect the same great atmosphere and entertainment while helping us raise money to support the Texas Equine Foundation. If you haven't already enrolled your practice in the Platinum Practice sponsorship, you may want to consider doing so. This is a $600 sponsorship that goes straight to our speaker budget for the symposium. Additional perks include a feature spotlight article in The Remuda, highlighting the best aspects of your practice for our entire Remuda audience (about 1,650 readers); a free spot in the Boutique CE Meeting; and listing on our website. Please don't hesitate to reach out if you have questions about any of this. Thank you for your continued support. Respectfully, Piper Norton, DVM, DACVIM A Message from the Point PRESIDENT PIPER NORTON, DVM, DACVIM
