know that there is a shortage of horse
doctors. Equine veterinarians make
up 5% of the veterinarians in America
today. Only 1.5% of students graduating
from vet school today want to be equine
veterinarians. Statistics tell us that roughly
half of those graduates will not be in
equine practice within five years. A deficit
in equine veterinarians in the near future
is the result.
