Texas Equine Foundation provides veterinary students with numerous opportunities to attend events to network with fellow veterinarians & learn new skills. CURRENT Texas Equine Foundation's first priority is to introduce, cultivate, encourage, and retain students in equine veterinary medicine. In 2024, Texas Equine Foundation provided the opportunity for 70 students to attend the Texas Equine Veterinary Association Summer Continuing Education Symposium in Fort Worth, Texas. During the symposium, all their expenses were paid (as well as travel to the conference). They also attended a student-only wet lab where they received hands-on instruction in practical veterinary skills. They also assisted in the logistics of the regular DVM wet lab, where they assisted with practice skills. They are provided with multiple opportunities over 4 days to network with their future colleagues, learn practical skills and listen in on many lectures and presentations. 7 Dedicated TEF Student Reps at veterinary schools 4 Endowed scholarships available 3 Equine Experience Scholarships given in 2024 — non-symposium related 18
