In 2016, Grayson helped pioneer the first research utilizing positron emission scans in the horse. A standing PET scan enables safe imaging of the equine distal limb without general anesthesia. Within minutes, the scan can help characterize sub-chondral lesions of the fetlock and sesamoids along with other causes of lameness. By 2025, there will be more than a dozen machines for use in North America. Just one way Grayson is helping turn research into answers!
