For nearly 25 years, Glen and his food con- cession, Wimpy’s, have been a Fair favorite of Candy Apple Alley, serving up tasty break- fasts, hamburgers, hotdogs, fries and more. Glen himself has been coming to the Fair since 1945, when he was a sophomore in high school. He especially enjoyed the farm equip- ment, rides and displays. In 1986, Glen had been making cooking griddles for other people to use when the LDS 14 East idaho statE fair GuidE | 2010 churches quit having food booths at the fair. Glen decided he could use the griddles and open a booth selling breakfast and hamburgers. Wimpy’s breakfast menu started small but has grown to a full selection. Through the years, Glen has changed menu to suit what people liked and wanted, including his famous French fries. “A key component of the Eastern Idaho State Fair is its outstanding food court which is made up of local people with special foods only found at the fair,” says Jeff L. Wright, President of the EISF Board of Directors. “Glen has a rich history at the fair and the EISF Board of Directors is pleased to have chosen him as the EISF 2010 Grand Marshal.” Glen’s most fond memories of the Fair are the people who come to Wimpy’s to visit with him. “It’s like a family reunion every year,” remarks Glen. He would like to thank all the people who have done business with him and looks for- ward to them coming back. In recent years, EISF Parade grand marshals have included Don Dixon, Jerry Hong, Karl Anderson, Cliff Brady and Dwain H. Stufflebeam.
