Wide Receiver
1. Shane Mikesky 87
6-4, 211, So.
6 rec., 99 yards*
Mikesky made a great adjustment on the underthrown
long ball delivered by Rob
Henry in the fourth quarter.
He stopped and waited on
it, letting a couple defenders run by him. The
48-yarder was Purdue's longest passing play of
the season, by far. Dolapo Macarthy played for
the first time this year and got a catch.
Tight End
1. Justin Sinz 84
2. Sterling Carter 81
6-5, 315, Sr. (5)
Pamphile, like Justin Kitchens
on the other side of the line, is
grading out well on a gameby-game basis, according to
Darrell Hazell. But one slip up
was a killer; on third down in
the fourth quarter, after Purdue had turned
ND over near the 50, Pamphile allowed pressure on a three-man rush. It ended the drive,
and perhaps the Boilers' chance at an upset.

6-2, 200, Fr.
6-3, 284, So.
Kugler had a fine day, but
his high snap on first down,
after Purdue had generated a
much-needed turnover in the
fourth quarter, hurt. It set the
Boilermakers back, and the three-and-out for
all intents and purposes ended the chance for
an upset.
6-5, 289, Sr. (5)
Quarterback
1. Rob Henry 15
6-1, 205, Sr. (5)
58-99 for 567 yards, 3 TDs,
2 int.*
Henry had his best start as
a Boilermaker, throwing for
career-highs of 256 yards on 25
completions with three touchdowns. The picksix was ugly, as he threw into coverage, perhaps
thinking he'd get a defensive holding flag. But it
was his only major mistake of the day.
2. Austin Appleby 12 6-4, 229, R-Fr.
— OR —
Danny Etling 5 6-2, 218, Fr.
6-4, 248, Jr.
9 rec., 64 yards, 1 TD*
In Purdue's first game without
Gabe Holmes, Sinz caught
a career best six balls for 45
yards and a touchdown. Both
Carter and Bade chipped in,
too, with a catch apiece, giving Purdue's tight
ends eight, not a bad effort without the No. 1.
Left Tackle
1. Kevin Pamphile 64
6-4, 247, Sr. (5) — OR —
6-7, 255, Sr. (5)
6-7, 300, Sr. (5)
Foy is getting a majority of
the snaps at right guard, but
Purdue's sprinkling in Roos as
well. The backup played about
14 snaps vs. ND. Roos says
Purdue will be better in rush
blocking when it can execute its assignments
without thinking too much about them.
6-5, 320, R-Fr.
Fullback
1. Kurt Freytag 46
6-1, 240, Sr. (5)
1 rec., 8 yards*
Cottom is playing a little bit
more now, but he's not yet a
big part of Purdue's offense.
He, nor Freytag, had a rush or a
reception against the Fighting Irish.
2. Brandon Cottom 25
6-2, 256, Jr.
Left Guard
1. Devin Smith 71
6-6, 341, Sr.
Smith and the rest of Purdue's
offensive line is playing well
in pass protection, keeping
hands off Rob Henry. But its
run blocking leaves much to
be desired. The Boilermakers
averaged only 1.8 yards per carry against the
Irish. King played a couple series.
2. Jason King 72
6-3, 300, R-Fr.
6-7, 291, Jr.
6-4, 290, Sr. (5)
Kitchens had to sub out for
one play against Notre Dame,
when his helmet came off. It
showed the lack of depth the
Boilermakers have at tackle;
when Prince came in for one play, he allowed
pressure on Rob Henry, forcing a third-down
throwaway.
Wide Receiver
1. B.J. Knauf 83
5-10, 183, R-Fr.
6 rec., 76 yards, 1 TD*
9 rush, 49 yards, 1 TD*
Knauf is looking more and
more like a playmaker Purdue
desperately needs in its offense.
He had 51 receiving yards on four catches, one
going 18 yards for a score. He added six rushing
yards and had a 39-yard kick return among his
two chances on special teams.
6-6, 288, R-Fr.
2. Gary Bush 6
Running Back
1. Akeem Hunt 1
Special Teams
6-0, 179, Sr. (5)
5-9, 184, Jr.
41 rushes, 125 yards*
12 rec., 115 yards, 1 TD*
Hunt was great in the passing
game, catching a team-and
career-high nine passes for
72 yards with a touchdown. It was tougher
going in the rushing game — as it was for all
Boilermakers. Hunt got 12 carries but generated only 22 yards; his teammates had only 16
more yards on the ground.
