For Kent Furlong, being on the water is just a
way of life. What else would you expect from a guy
who comes from a long line of family members
who have made their living on the river?
Five generations later, Kent is the president and
founder of Hines Furlong Line, Inc. (HFL) who's
long river history began in the 1870s when his
great-great-great grandfather, Richard T. Williams
built a steamboat and began the Bowling Green
and Evansville Packet Company with his three
sons.
Through the years the transport business has
ranged from people and goods to asphalt and
gasoline, yet has remained a family tradition.
