G iven how fast social media trends come and go, and how easily a social media outlet can be used for the most trivial of time wasters, it was pretty easy to be disinterested when Pinterest first appeared. Curation sites like delicious. com, StumbleUpon and a host of others had already risen to prominence as the next great social media train we should be riding… which ended up idling at the station. It was easy to assume that Pinterest would be similar. After a while, however, Pinterest started to look like a good place for decorators to be seen. Based on the latest available statistics, some from Pinterest itself, as of July, 2013, Pinterest had 70 million users. Granted, that's not Facebook-level, but it is quite impressive for a site that is only three years old. Monthly Pinterest pageviews number about 2.5 billion, and the average time spent on Pinterest per month is 98 minutes.
