SXSW Eco Hackathon
presented by VERIZON FOUNDATION
The SXSW Eco Hackathon, presented by Verizon Foundation, provides a unique
opportunity to combine a community of civic hackers with exciting big data from Pike
Powers Lab. Teams will have access to highly detailed datasets of electricity usage from a
variety of homes. Using these and open datasets, each team will compete to create mobilecentric apps and help to improve home energy decisions. Each team will have 24 hours
to submit mobile app. Applications will be judged by the Verizon jury and SXSW Eco
attendees at the Hackathon Show-and-Tell hosted in the Hacker Lounge presented by The
Cleanweb Initiative. Stop by this lounge in the Eco Exhibition to learn more about the
output of this exciting Hackathon and attend the hackers' presentations on Monday from
3:15pm-5:30pm to meet the developers and experts themselves.
