Defensive End
1. Greg Latta 91
6-5, 260, Sr.
16 tackles, 0.5 TFL, 2 PBU*
Latta likely won't go vs.
Nebraska, as he's spent the bye
week sidelined due to a bad
hamstring injury. He was listed
as questionable midweek. Williams could get
more time, but look for Panfil to see his first
action of the season, as Purdue's looking for
more rush options off the edges
Defensive Tackle
1. Ryan Isaac 61
2. Jules Williams 48
6-4, 292, Sr.
7 tackles, 0.5 TFL, 1 INT*
Depending on what sort of
alignments Purdue starts
Saturday's game with, Isaac
could be in as a starter.
Coaches like his size and strength as a nose
tackle. They're very high on Howard, who has
elevated himself in recent weeks. He's not the
best-conditioned Boiler, far from it, but seems
to have an ability to break up blocks.
Evan Panfil 95
2. Ra'Zahn Howard 93
6-3, 245, Jr. — OR —
6-4, 240, Fr.
6-3, 315, Fr.
Strongside Linebacker
1. Sean Robinson 10
6-2, 310, Sr.
21 tackles, 3.5 TFL, 2 sacks*
Purdue wants to free up
Gaston some, and it'll try to
do so by getting him out to
the edge at times in an effort
to get him in one-on-one situations. The
Boilermakers haven't had much rush from the
defensive line in recent weeks and want to
find ways to generate negative-yardage plays
for the opponent.
2. Ryan Watson 92
2. Jimmy Herman 29
6-3, 240, Jr.
19 tackles, 1 TFL, 1 PBU*
Just when it looked as though Robinson might
be losing his starting job, he had reclaimed it in
the days preceding the Nebraska game. Still, he
needs to be better, getting off blocks and filling
gaps more quickly. If not, Williams could spell
him, like he did vs. NIU.
6-1, 225, Jr.
18 tackles, 1 TFL, 3 PBU, 1 FR*
Gilliam had a quick start to the season but
had faded in the last couple of weeks. The
Boilermakers must be stronger up the middle,
an area previously thought of as a strength.
Herman's played late the last couple weeks, but
isn't yet ready for more regular action.
6-2, 230, So.
Defensive End
1. Ryan Russell 99
6-5, 270, Jr.
14 tackles, 4 TFL, 2 sacks*
The Boilermakers need more
from their end positions, including Russell, who hasn't consistently been a thorn for opponents. Phillips is inconsistent,
leaving an opening for Replogle, a freshman
who has yet to play. Purdue likes his high motor.
2. Jalani Phillips 89
6-4, 256, Jr. — OR —
Jake Replogle 54
6-2, 306, So.
Middle Linebacker
1. Joe Gilliam 39
2. Armstead Williams 31
Defensive Tackle
1. Bruce Gaston Jr. 90
6-4, 240, Fr.
Weakside Linebacker
1. Will Lucas 45
5-11, 236, Sr.
28 tackles, 1.5 TFL, 1 sack, 1 PBU*
Lucas has been Purdue's best linebacker, consistently turning in good performances. He's
been a pleasant surprise, for the most part,
considering he had fallen out of favor during
training camp.
2. Andy James Garcia 2
6-0, 218, R-Fr.
6-4, 220, R-Fr.
WR 10 Jamal Turner
6-1, 185, Jr.
1 Jordan Westerkamp 6-0, 200, R-Fr.
QB 3 Taylor Martinez
6-1, 210, Sr.
OR 4 Tommy Armstrong 6-1, 220, R-Fr.
12 Ron Kellogg III
6-1, 220, Sr.
IB
8 Ameer Abdullah
32 Imani Cross
5-9, 190, Jr.
6-1, 225, So.

Cornerback
1. Ricardo Allen 21
5-9, 186, Sr.
20 tackles, 1 TFL, 2 int., 1 PBU*
Allen's not missed any time
recently, yet he's not 100 percent either, dealing with a bulky
ankle that seemingly could
give out at any time. But he'll play on Saturday
and Purdue wants to put him in position to be
more active near the line of scrimmage.
2. Normondo Harris 1
6-0, 180, Sr.
Safety
1. Taylor Richards 4
5-10, 192, Jr.
31 tackles, 0.5 TFL, 1 PBU*
Richards suffered a concussion
during the bye week, sending
him to the sidelines for a couple days of practice. Purdue's
not very deep in the secondary, so having
Richards available is a must. Rob Henry has
moved to safety but isn't close to being ready
to contribute.
2. Anthony Brown 9
5-11, 192, So.
Safety
1. Anthony Brown 9
5-11, 192, So.
23 tackles, 2 TFL*
Brown will continue to start
until Landon Feichter comes
back, which could be sooner
than anyone expected. The
junior safety, who broke a leg in Week 2, might
return for Ohio State Nov. 2. If not then, he
could get back for Iowa a week later.
2. Evan Feichter 27
6-0, 187, R-Fr.
Cornerback
1. Frankie Williams 24
5-9, 185, So.
21 tackles, 1 TFL, 1 int., 2 PBU*
Williams is back at practice after
missing the Northern Illinois
game with a concussion. The
tenacity is a welcomed return,
as is his playmaking ability. Lewis will continue
to play in five-DB packages.
2. Antoine Lewis 26
5-10, 185, Jr.
