Heisman pose while trying to
evade Nebraska's Corey Cooper.
Despite the Boilermakers'
offensive struggles, Hunt had a
productive day on the ground,
averaging 5.7 yards per carry.
Earlier in the week, Frankie Williams
intercepted a pass in practice in the same
scenario. So he was ready to snag his
third career pick against Nebraska. It was
one of three Boilermaker interceptions
in the game, the first three-interception
effort by Purdue since the Bucket game
last year.
DeAngelo Yancey continued to impress with
his 146-receiving performance. He caught
a 55-yard scoring pass in the game's final
minute. The play allowed him to amass the
most receiving yards in a single game by a
true freshman in Purdue history, surpassing
Dorien Bryant's 131 yards against Indiana
in 2004.
Randy Gregory broke through the line to record a sack and safety on Danny Etling with 3:53 left in the third quarter. It
was the first safety against the Boilermakers since the 2011 game at Michigan.
