FASHION 14 guestlist.net Issue 56 / 2013 WHO WORE WHAT ON THE RED CARPET? The day after an awards show, the world's attention is focused not only who won which award, but on who was wearing what? The Primetime Emmy Awards 22nd September 2013 Pride of Britain Awards 7th October 2013 So let's take a look back at the red carpet fashion this year, selecting our favourite and least loved looks of each major awards event this year. Our Pick: The Modern Family bombshell looked ravishing on the red carpet at the Emmys, with a stunning red Vera Wang gown which accentuated Sofia Vergara's amazing hourglass figure. She made sure her look didn't get too vampy, contrasting the dress with neutrally matte brown lipstick, sexy eyeliner flicks and beautiful emerald green earrings. Our Pick: Kimberly Walsh bought elegance to the red carpet at the Pride of Britain Awards, keeping it simple with a long sleeve white gown by Halston. The plunging neckline and slit added sex appeal to her look, completed by sleek straight hair, with a dash of bold red lipstick bringing some colour to the outfit. We love it. The Academy Awards Ceremony (The Oscars) 24th February 2013 MTV Video Music Awards 25th August 2013 Our Pick: She won both an Oscar and the red carpet with this beautiful Christian Dior haute couture dress. Jennifer Lawrence looked incredible from every angle in this gown and the flattering creamy colour accentuated her glowing skin. The texture of the dress was also a winner, dappled to avoid crinkles or garish shine. Thankfully, styling was kept to a minimum, with swept-back hair, delicate jewellery and a small silver clutch. Our Pick: Selena Gomez looked stunning, wearing Atelier Versace's sophisticated and striking navy blue form-fitting dress. The high thigh split with the open top revealing a lace bodice design ensured she looked incredibly sexy. She's definitely shaking off her Disney image (and with a little more subtlety than Miley Cyrus). Her silky straight hair and red lipstick completed the glamour.
