The overall sentiment of the evening was best summed up in the statements of Dan and David Walbaum when talking about their dad Dick, who was a long-time John Purdue Club Director; one of several roles he had during his five decades of service at Purdue. When asked how their father, who passed away in 2009, would have responded to the induction, the message was short and sweet. "Oh gosh, Dad would be as speechless as we are," Dan Walbaum said. "He would be very humble and he certainly would be one to deflect credit to everyone else.
