It's strong enough to hold up to the challenges of the toughest field conditions and high horsepower tractors of today and tomorrow. The QX2 sheds unnecessary weight with an efficient frame design. The QX2 features a unique hitch system. In the field, the floating hitch pivots between the tractor and the main frame, allowing your cultivator to follow the lay of the land. While in transport, the hitch locks into place and the caster gauge wheels lift off the ground creating a stable transport package. The key to its ability to flex in the field and fold to a relatively small size is the high/low hinge. Conceptualized more than 30 years ago, the low hinge allows the QX2's 80-foot span to flex in the field over steep contours, while the high hinge allows it to fold into a neat, transportable package of just 21 feet. It also has all the features for which Wil-Rich field cultivators are n Schlagel Manufacturing www.schlagel.net Till-N-Plant "Series 2B" The "Series 2B" row unit was redesigned in some areas of the unit to be more user friendly. known. These include the Wil-Rich split-the-middle design for better trash flow through the tool and light draft, hydraulic caster gauge wheels to carry the unit in the field, heavy-duty shanks and a full complement of optional rear attachments, Wil-Rich, headquartered in Wahpeton, N.D., was founded in 2001 and offers a complete line of tillage equipment. In 2011, Wil-Rich and Amity Technology merged into a joint venture with AGCO for the development of air seeding and tillage equipment. AGCO, based in Duluth, Ga., is a leading provider of ag equipment worldwide. They are designed to be versatile and feature more options like floating row cleaners, three fertilizer tube options and hydraulic trip shank. The unit's down-pressure is adjusted by moving one rod, the front flat coulter depth is adjusted with one bolt, and the wavy coulters and rear packer are adjusted by moving a pin. The row unit starts with a flat coulter to cut the residue ahead of the 1-inch-thick parabolic automatic-reset trip shank. The unit can be adjusted so the shank tills from 6 to 16 inches deep. The parabolic shank and new cast point are designed to pull easier and last longer. Following the shanks are two wavy coulters to lift and pinch the soil together. This closes the void left by the shank, removing any air pock ts in e the seed bed. The final key component of the row unit is its dual-wheel packer with several options to choose from. This packer acts as a "depth gauge wheel" for the whole-row unit. It firms up the soil to lessen moisture evaporation and also breaks up any dirt clods that can impede seed placement and seed-tosoil contact. n Orthman Manufacturing Inc. 308-324-4654 www.orthman.com 1tRIPr XD Strip-Till Built for today's ever larger farms, Orthman's new, drawn 1tRIPr XD offers the additional efficiency of fertilizer carrying capacity integrated in large-frame, drawn designs. The 1tRIPr XD is available in 8- to 18-row toolbar configurations with 6- or 9-ton dry fertilizer packages, a 1,000-gallon liquid fertilizer capacity and optional rear hitch for use in NH3 application. The 1tRIPr XD includes all the features of a row crop tillage toolbar, utilizing finite element analysis testing for engineered strength. Three narrow transport models allow for faster and safer field-to-farm transportation. The XD combo enables true single-pass strip-till and planter operation in 6- to 16-row systems. n   www.SugarProducer.com  37
