Purdue pulled to a 46-15 advantage at intermission. Davis had a productive game with 13 points, three steals and 5-of-6 shooting in 17 minutes. Stephen Toyra and his fellow walkons played in both halves of the game. Toyra and Neal Beshears each scored baskets as well. Freshman Jay Simpson logged the fewest minutes of the starting five (14), but did add seven points and seven rebounds. Purdue won the battle of the boards, 35-31. Like Davis, Bryson Scott too came off the bench after starting the first exhibition game. His stingy defense helped the Boilermakers hold Wayne State to 21-percent shooting in the first half.
