Boilermakers Dominant In Final Exhibition
Painter clears the bench early in romp
Purdue 91,
Wayne State (Neb.) 58
Nov. 4, 2013, Mackey Arena
Rapheal Davis came off the
bench to help spark the
Boilermaker route in the first
half. Purdue pulled to a 46-15
advantage at intermission.
Davis had a productive game
with 13 points, three steals and
5-of-6 shooting in 17 minutes.
Stephen Toyra and his fellow
walkons played in both halves
of the game. Toyra and Neal
Beshears each scored baskets
as well.
Freshman Jay Simpson logged the
fewest minutes of the starting
five (14), but did add seven points
and seven rebounds. Purdue won
the battle of the boards, 35-31.
Like Davis, Bryson Scott too came off the bench after
starting the first exhibition game. His stingy defense
helped the Boilermakers hold Wayne State to 21-percent
shooting in the first half.
