DeAngelo Yancey 80 6-2, 200, Fr. 17 rec., 338 yards, 1 TD* Since his breakout in backto-back games earlier this season, Yancey has had very little impact. He had only two receptions for 11 yards against the Hawkeyes. Purdue needs a playmaker on the perimeter and might try to look deep at times at Penn State. 2. Shane Mikesky 87 6-4, 211, So. Center 1. Robert Kugler 57 6-3, 284, So. Darrell Hazell says Kugler had a difficult assignment vs. Iowa, dealing with the heft in the middle of the Hawkeye defensive line. But Kugler has largely graded out well. He's the centerpiece of Purdue's line for years to come. 2. Cody Davis 59 6-5, 289, Sr. (5) Quarterback 1. Danny Etling 5 6-2, 218, Fr. 75-of-156 for 819 yards, 4 TDs, 5 int.* Etling was more efficient against the Hawkeyes, completing better than 50 percent of his passes with a touchdown and no turnovers. We'll see if he can build from this. The key is production up front, and a running game would help. Appleby looked solid in his debut late in the game. 2. Austin Appleby 12 6-4, 229, R-Fr. Tight End 1. Justin Sinz 84 Left Tackle 1. Kevin Pamphile 64 2. Patrick Bade 89 2. Cameron Cermin 66 6-4, 248, Jr. 25 rec., 194 yards, 2 TDs* Sinz suffered bruised ribs against the Hawkeyes, leaving him limited during practices this week. He's a critical player for Purdue, because he does so much on the line of scrimmage and as a receiver. 6-7, 255, Sr. (5) — OR — 2. Sterling Carter 81 6-5, 315, Sr. (5) Purdue's pass protection was much improved against the Hawkeyes, as the line gave up only two sacks. Both came when Danny Etling was in shotgun without extra blocking help. Cermin is getting practice snaps on the inside. 6-5, 320, R-Fr. Roos knows few care that Purdue has a young interior line, as opponents are going to play hard regardless. But the fact is that the Boilermakers will likely get better with age, and this offseason will be critical to development. 2. Trevor Foy 78 6-7, 300, Sr. (5) Fullback 1. Brandon Cottom 25 6-2, 256, Jr. 34 rush, 102 yards* 4 rec., 24 yards* Cottom is starting strong then fizzling. He had 16 yards on his first two carries against Iowa, then finished with only 28 yards on 12 attempts. Freytag ended Purdue's touchdown drought with his reception in the second quarter. 2. Kurt Freytag 46 6-1, 240, Sr. (5) 6-3, 300, R-Fr. King got his second consecutive start at left guard, filling in for Smith. After missing the week before, Smith was back, coming in for a couple series at both left and right guard. You'd think King would continue to start, as Purdue builds toward the future in the final three weeks. 6-5, 300, R-Fr. 2. Devin Smith 71 Right Tackle 1. Justin Kitchens 51 Wide Receiver 1. B.J. Knauf 83 6-6, 341, Sr. 6-2, 247, Sr. (5) Right Guard 1. Jordan Roos 70 Left Guard 1. Jason King 72 6-4, 290, Sr. (5) Prince could get some snaps this season, and might do so while wearing No. 94. It would make him an eligible receiver, something Purdue could need with Justin Sinz a little nicked up headed into the Penn State game. 2. J.J. Prince 73 6-6, 288, R-Fr. 5-10, 183, R-Fr. 12 rec., 127 yards, 1 TD* 14 rushes, 92 yards, 1 TD* Knauf had a couple catches for 16 yards, and three rushes for two. Anthrop had a bigger day, with four receptions for 82 yards, including a 44-yard touchdown. He had two drops, but made up for one with a third-down catch in which he fought for the yardage for a first down. 2. Danny Anthrop 33 6-0, 180, So. Running Back 1. Akeem Hunt 1 5-9, 184, Jr. 93 rushes, 325 yards* 33 rec., 313 yards, 2 TDs* Hunt is potentially Purdue's big-play running back, but Purdue's not getting any big plays in the run game. The longest rush this season by a running back is 18 yards. Mostert looked like he was going to get a bunch of snaps in the second half, but then fumbled in the game's biggest play. 2.
