Train the Body, Most of us, when we think of training, assume that it means someone teaching us to follow an established process, and that through repeated attempts, we’ll achieve understanding and competency. This is often the case in the professional setting, but there’s usually an aspect of how we learn that is overlooked — the mind-body connection. Muscles Follow Mind When we articulate a physical movement using strength, precision and balance, we’ve commanded our bodies to do so. That we are able to accomplish something initially perceived as difficult or impossible is a testament to grueling repetition, perseverance and a heartfelt determination. Whether it’s driving a golf ball farther and straighter than ever before, or doing a flip turn in the pool and completing another exhilarating lap, it is our mind that has carried us through. The body simply follows the established protocol for which it has been prepared.
