16 IN OUR SCHOOLS DECEMBER 5-11, 2013 | IN BRIEF 'Santa's Rockin' Christmas Eve' at Saylesville LINCOLN – Traveling Theatre, a program of the Center for Dynamic Learning, will present "Santa's Rockin' Christmas Eve" starring Saylesville Elementary School students on Saturday, Dec. 14, at 7 p.m. and Sunday, Dec. 15, at 2 p.m. The performance, at the school at 50 Woodland St., is directed by Traveling Theatre artists Jennifer Nolan and Ben Stanfield. Students have been working for more than a month to put together this variety show, which features performances by the reindeer, the elves, Mrs. Claus and even Santa himself. School choice boot camp Monday PROVIDENCE – The Friedman Foundation for Educational Choice, in conjunction with the Rhode Island Families for School Choice, will host an introductory School Choice Boot Camp on Monday, Dec. 9, 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Hilton Providence, 21 Atwells Ave. This event is open to all interested citizens, school staff members and parents of students enrolled in schools in Rhode Island. The evening will consider: 1. What is school choice? 2. Grassroots and parental engagement 3. Coalition building and maintenance Organizers say this event will be interactive with lots of questions and answers about school choice coalitions across the country.
