Northshore helps you find the perfect
spot to celebrate your happy day.
By Anna Kasabian
planning a wedding reception
is the one of those rare occasions when
we have the opportunity to mold every
last detail to our liking. One of the most
important aspects of this special day is
deciding where to bring guests to share in
our celebration.
For those looking for a venue—one
that speaks directly to your interests and
passions—there is a plethora of options
right here on the North Shore. At all of
them, photographers will find endless
opportunities to capture stunning and
meaningful vignettes that will keep your
wedding-day memories alive in the pages
of your wedding album.

The Commons, Topsfield For a quintessential New England setting, consider this
1854 former church function hall, complete with beautiful grounds and a terrace. Ceremonies and receptions can be
held here, and the owners call on trained
chefs to prepare farm-to-table organic
food. Receptions can be held in the ball-
room or on the lawn. For more information,
call 978-887-4100.
Peabody Essex Museum, Salem For
those with a passion for the arts and
local history, this is a choice locale. Gallery rooms, the Asian Garden, East India
Marine Hall, and the glass-ceilinged
atrium all provide stellar backdrops for
taking vows. The hall, in particular, with
dramatically high ceiling and exquisite
architectural detailing is particularly
striking. Couples also have the option to
rent the entire museum, and personalized packages can be designed. For more
information, call 866-745-1876.
Beauport, Sleeper-McCann House,
Gloucester This house museum sits in an
enchanting spot overlooking Gloucester
Harbor. It was once the summer home
and personal retreat of Henry Davis
Sleeper—one of America's first professional interior designers. Though receptions cannot be accommodated (there are
