18 HOUSE / TECHNO guestlist.net Album of the month Karizma - Wall of Sound R2 Records Issue 58 / 2013 Artist of the month Route 94 Karizma Long running US DJ/Producer Karizma finally releases his much waited third LP once again via R2 UK. The album consisting of 31 tracks on a double CD and 15 tracks on vinyl, two of which are exclusives, reflects Karizma's past discography, from hip hop and US low slung groove, to his marked broken House beats. Back with another explosive composition, Karizma welcomes Yoruba Records finest, Osunlade, onto leading deep house track Hear and Now, presenting a collaboration of diverse instrumentals and soulful vocals. The notably shorter track Kellah provides an array of rapid percussions, alongside a jazzy piano riff and a range of erratic reggae vocals for that jungle flavour. Whereas, Knext presents the signature broken beat, discohouse infused style we've come to love from the producer, with a vocal line that smoothly filters through the mix. Karizma's Wall of Sound really is a creative piece of musical art, showing his extensive production skills, providing quality House music for spinning DJs and passionate party people representing the club scene. The DJ and owner of record label 'Route 94' produced a guest mix aired on Skream and Benga's BBC1 radio show as well as showcasing his bass-driven early house material which created a platform for exposure, ultimately leading to radio appearances and his latest track 'My love' starring on Annie Mac Presents 2013 compilation. His debut EP 'fly 4 life' released in June is just the start of what the young producer has to offer. Catch the man himself alongside an arreay of established house DJ's at London's popular electronic venue Fire on December 21st. Stationed at no1 on my iTunes playlist, this nudisco style number never fails to get my head bopping to the addictive funky bassline. Ministry of Sound blessed house enthusiasts with the re- release, storming in at no 1 on the UK Singles Chart and UK Dance Chart accompanied with the well-received music video; a comical concept of a man dressed in a white lion suit to get attention from women.
