Marceau, 73, of Mendon Road, formerly of Woonsocket, died Jan. 9, 2014, in St. Antoine Residence, North Smithfield. He was the husband of Sandra A. (Greenlund) Marceau, whom he married Sept. 5, 1964. Born in North Smithfield, he was the son of the late Wilfred and Alice (Blanchard) Marceau. Mr. Marceau worked as a machinist for Whitins Machine, Whitinsville, Mass. Robert served in the United States Air Force and was a member of the Leclair, Kozlik, Logan, Bassett VFW Post No. 6342, Forestdale. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with family, whom he loved dearly. Kenneth Douglass and Glenda Douglass Besides his wife, he is survived by their two sons, Michael W. Marceau and his wife Shana of Cumberland, and Robert W. Marceau and his wife Susan of North Attleboro, Mass.; his sister, Irene Brassard of Tampa, Fla.; five grandchildren, Kerri Converse, Kayla, Emily, Matthew and Leah Marceau; and two great-grandchildren, Kara Converse and Alana Caron. He was predeceased by his two brothers, George and Roland Marceau; and three sisters, Florence Boivin, Estelle Sawyer and Lucille Paul. Funeral services will be held at a later date. (Trudeau) Picard, 94, of North Smithfield, formerly of Woonsocket, died Sunday, Jan. 12, 2014, in St. Antoine Residence. Born in Woonsocket, she was the picard daughter of the late Alfred and Florence (Bernier) Trudeau. Beatrice was a 1936 graduate of Woonsocket High School. She was a secretary from Citizens Memorial Elementary School until her retirement in 1981. Beatrice was a communicant of Precious Blood Church. She enjoyed making cherry confetti cake, fudge and surprise squares. She leaves her son, Ronald Picard and his wife Simone of Bellingham; her daughter, Carol S. Crook and her husband George of Athens, Maine; her sister, Sylvia Bacon of Cumberland; seven grandchildren, Doreen Picard, who predeceased her, Cynthia Crook-Pick, Michael Picard, Christopher Crook, Cheryl Branchaud, Ronald Picard and Christine Sawicki; nine greatgrandchildren; and a greatgreat-granddaughter, Vivienne Ella Crook, of whom she was very proud. Her funeral will be held Saturday, January 18, 2014, at 10 a.m. from the Holt Funeral Home, 510 South Main St., Woonsocket, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in the chapel at the St. Antoine Residence, 10 Rhodes Ave. Burial will follow in Precious Blood Cemetery, Rathbun St., Woonsocket. LUKE, M.D. GENERAL SURGERY Specializing in Laparoscopic repair and removal of hernias, gallbladders, appendix, hysterectomies, vasectomies, rectal, colon and breast cancer surgery and treatment Kenneth Douglass, age 89, of Beaver Falls, Pa., died Thursday, Dec. 26, 2013, followed in death 12 days later by the love of his life and his wife of 65 years, Glenda "Genie" Douglass, age 85, who died Tuesday Jan. 7, 2014. Ken and Genie were the parents of Robert H. Douglass of North Providence, R.I., and the grandparents of Thomas F. Douglass of Warren, R.I. Ken was born on April 30, 1924, in New Brighton, Pa., the son of the late Edward T. and Anna Patterson Douglass. Genie was born in Ohioville Borough on April 22, 1928, the daughter of the late Robert Glen Hammond and Olive Popp Hammond. She was preceded in death by her sister, Phyllis Dawson; her brother, Keith Hammond; and her brothers-inlaw, Anthony "Pidge" Pantoni and Paul "Buddy" Dawson. Shortly after celebrating their 65th wedding anniversary on Sept. 1, 2013, Genie suffered serious stroke and was hospitalized at Ellwood City Hospital until her passing. Ken sat by her side every day until he passed in his sleep on the day after Christmas. Genie had served on the Hospital Auxiliary and the family would like to thank Dr. Lawrence Rahal and the Third Floor Staff of the hospital for their kind and compassionate care. Ken graduated from New Brighton High School in 1942 and after returning from World War II in 1946, Ken and Genie met and were married on Sept. 1, 1948. After attending Geneva College, Ken worked at Babcock & Wilcox Steel as a turn chemist in the lab until retiring in 1985. Genie graduated from Midland High School in 1946 and after her children entered 401-766-4304 501 Great Rd., Unit 205, North Smithfield, RI St. John; and his niece, Michelle M. Phaneuf. Joanne M. Chubka, 95, of Woonsocket, died Jan. 11. She was the former wife of the late Michael Chubka. She leaves her children, Sandra Caswell of Millville, Mass., and Merlene Dupre of Douglasville, Ga.; a brother, Joseph Ferrenti; and three grandchildren. Normand Riendeau, 87, formerly of Winthrop Street, Woonsocket, died Jan. 9. He was a son of the late Jean Baptiste and Marie Louise (Beaulieu) Riendeau. He leaves his brother, Jean Leo Riendeau, and many nieces and nephews. Edward J. St. John, 91, of Blackstone, died Jan. 10. He was the son of the late Francis W. and Helen (David) St. John. He leaves his nephew, David W. While raising her three children, Genie also worked full time at Mayer China and St. Joe Lead as an administrative assistant. After receiving her business degree, Genie was an associate broker at Prudential Realty until retiring in 2012. Ken and Genie also worked together in their rental real estate business since early in their marriage and together they ran a successful apple orchard and strawberry business in their spare time. Ken (75 years) and Genie (65 years) were active in the Westminster Presbyterian Church where he served as Elder, Deacon and Trustee and she was a Sunday school teacher for many years. They both were also active members of the North Sewickley Grange where she was part of the Community Service Committee which won numerous state wide awards. Ken was a founding member of the North Sewickley Municipal Water Authority that brought municipal water service to death notices Pauline L. Milette, 80, of Woonsocket, died Jan. 11. She leaves her husband, Robert E. Milette; three sons, Kenneth R. Milette of Woonsocket, Christopher P. Milette of Frisco, Texas, and Brian M. Milette of Attleboro, Mass.; two daughters, Diane M. Rivers and Sharon S. Badeau, both of Woonsocket; her sister, Suzanne C. Gagne; and nine grandchildren. He retired after 55 years as a board member and manager but served as a consultant to the current board until his passing. Ken was also a former member of the North Sewickley Volunteer Fire Department. Ken and Genie are survived by two sons and a daughter, Greg ( Janice) Douglass of North Sewickley Township, Robert H. Douglass of North Providence, R.I., and Mary Ellen Douglass of Franklin Township; six grandchildren, Thomas F. Douglass (Warren, R.I.), Alison D. McKinney (Columbus, Ga.), Robert H. Douglass, Jean Ann Douglass (both Brooklyn, N.Y.), Benjamin E. Douglass, (North Sewickley) and Andrew G. Douglass, (Fort Wayne, Ind.); and five great-grandchildren, Nolan and Connor McKinney, Jacen, Sam and June Douglass. They also are survived by Genie's sister, Belva Pantoni, and sister-in-law, Dawn Hammond (both Midland, Pa.), and Ken's brother, James Douglass and his wife Marilyn (Concordia, Kan.). They are both also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Ken and Genie were the best parents, grandparents and greatgrandparents that any family could ask for. Funeral Services were provided by the Marshall Funeral Home of Ellwood City and a private family interment at the family plot in the Concord Church Cemetery in North Sewickley followed a beautiful and fitting tribute by the Rev. Guillermina Torres, 74, of Front Street, Woonsocket, died Jan. 6. She was a daughter of the late Domicilio and Jose Fina (Ortiz) Torres. She leaves four sons, Felix Colon, Edwin Colon, Julio Colon and Geraldo Colon, all of Woonsocket; four daughters, Maria Colon, Nydia Colon and Wanda Colon, all of Woonsocket and Gladys Colon of Puerto Rico; a sister, Maria Torres; two brothers, Marcello and Antonio Torres; and 27 grandchildren, 43 greatgrandchildren and a great-greatgranddaughter.
