  michigan recruiting Top 2015 Pledges George Campbell And Damien Harris Decommit W hen Michigan reeled in both Tarpon Springs (Fla.) East Lake wide receiver George Campbell and Berea (Ky.) Madison Southern running back Damien Harris in a single weekend back in July, it was an unprecedented early recruiting coup. Both are five-star talents and top-10 prospects nationally (Harris is No. 5 and Campbell No. 7, according to Rivals.com), and Michigan picked them up more than 18 months away from their signing date in February 2015. That early burst was diminished recently when Campbell opted to re-open his recruiting process and consider other suitors. The 6-4, 190-pounder shocked the recruiting world when he did pick U-M at the beginning of the annual Barbecue at The Big House recruiting event, and that early surprise has shifted back to the norm with his decommitment in December. Harris followed suit a month later. Campbell, a high school teammate of fellow Michigan commit Mason Cole (an early enrollee who made his way to campus for the winter semester in January) ran the fastest 40-yard dash time at Nike's The Opening last summer, with a blazing 4.37-second mark. He's still considering Michigan — and Cole, his close friend, could convince him that he'd made the right choice in the first place — and other prospects are also on the table. Saginaw (Mich.) Heritage four-star Brian Cole is one solid bet for a strong Michigan push. The 6-2, 200-pounder is the state's top prospect in 2015, coming in at No. 9 among athletes nationally and No. 90 across all positions. He's a high school running back whose height and speed on the edge make him a possibility for receiver or even defensive back (where other schools have given him a look) in college.
