how to create a highly functional, personalized outdoor kitchen.
First consider the cost of an outdoor
kitchen and how much you use it. Modest
outdoor kitchens can be built for as little
as $3,000, but more elaborate designs
can be 10 times that number. You'll also
want to think about the placement of the
kitchen. Are you going to be grilling in
the fall and winter months as well? For
serious year-round grill masters, Faulk
suggests locating the outdoor kitchen in
close proximity to the indoor kitchen.
"I like to be able to look out the
kitchen window and see the thermometer on the grill hood without having to
go outside and check. The closer you are
to the back door, the more likely you are
to use it in winter months. I like to see
people using their outdoor kitchens all
year," says Faulk. Lighting, therefore is
key. "In the winter months the sun goes
