PERSONAL Drake Michael Harris was born March 23, 1995 … Has run a 4.45 40-yard dash … Hails from the same town as former Michigan linebackers David Harris and Obi Ezeh, former offensive lineman Rueben Riley and current Michigan linebacker Desmond Morgan … Likes to hang out with friends and play video games in his spare time … Also a highly recruited basketball player who initially committed to Michigan State in June 2012 before opening his recruitment back up solely for football … Enrolled early at U-M in order to participate in spring ball and vie for playing time in the fall. STATISTICS Career Totals: Caught 136 passes for 2,966 yards and 33 touchdowns … Did not play during his senior season due to a hamstring injury, but he was still No. 1 on the Detroit News postseason Blue Chip list of the state of Michigan's top players. Junior Season: Hauled in 91 passes for 2,016 yards and 23 touchdowns … Broke the state single-season receiving yardage record formerly held by Sterling Heights Stevenson's D.J. Mershman (1,896 yards, 2009) … Nationally, Harris was the 12th player to ever have a 2,000-yard season … Helped lead his team to the Michigan Division 3 state title, catching a title-game-record 243 yards in passes and adding a touchdown in the Division 3 championship win … Detroit News Dream Team selection … First-team AP Division 3-4 All-State pick. Sophomore Season: Posted 45 receptions for 950 yards and 10 touchdowns … Earned first-team all-conference and honorable mention Division 3 all-state honors. I remember watching him and saying, 'Wow, what a phenomenal player.'" Harris is eager to prove how good he can be this spring, when he'll have plenty of opportunities to make strides before fall camp. He'll have a solid chance to be part of a poten- tially outstanding receiving corps — more importantly to him, one of the cogs on a possibly great team. "There are a lot of great guys here," he said.
