Q: How can I get in touch with other attendees? A: Your SXsocial account. See social.sxsw.com. Q: How do I get info about SXSW Interactive? A: There's a lot that's new for 2014; stay on track and find out what's in store for the next day with our nightly Interactive Festival updates sent to your email. Also, check out Twitter for #SXSWtips and visit sxsw.tv/tib6 Q: Help! I lost my computer, tablet, or phone at a SXSW Interactive venue. What do I do? A: Check with the Registration Help Desk in Exhibit Hall 1 of the Austin Convention Center. This desk serves as lost and found during the festival. After the festival, please call (512) 467-7979. Q: I feel overwhelmed by the event. Do you have any tips on how to get the most out of SXSW? A: Attend a Home Room Session at 9:30am. They are a great way to learn more about the event, and a way to network with other SXSW attendees in a relaxed, low-key environment. Q: FAQs are great, but I need real-time answers from a real-life person. What should I do? A: Head over to the Panelist Check-in kiosk in Registration (Exhibit Hall 1 of the Convention Center). Someone there will be able to help. Q: Do you have networking opportunities? A: Our Meet Ups are an informal way to meet others with similar interests. Q: Do you have a bike share program? A: Yes! Visit sxsw.tv/lqd charter-rentals to view the various methods of transportation, which includes bikes available to registrants. Q: Are there any free events that my friends can attend if they don't have a badge? A: Yes! The SXSW Gaming Expo & Gaming Awards are free to attend (see page 206) along with gaming-related programming at the Long Center. Also, SXSW Create (see page 211) the Dewey Winburne Community Service Awards (see page 205) and Latinos in Tech Track (see Page 187) are all free and open to the public. Q: Do I have to RSVP for sessions? A: No. Sessions are first-come, first-served with the exception of Mentors and Workshops. See page 181 for more on Mentors and page 193 for more info on Workshops. Q: Can I go to a Workshop if I haven't signed up? A: Advance sign up is open until the start of all Workshop sessions. You can signup now at sup.sxsw.com using your SXsocial login. Q: Am I guaranteed entrance to evening events? A: No. While an Interactive, Gold or Platinum badge is required for admission, entry is filled on a first-come, first-served basis and pending venue capacity. Q: Can I let my friend/colleague use my badge? A: No. Your badge allows you and only you to attend a session. It has your name and photo for identification. Anyone else wearing it will be turned away and Registration will then be notified to make sure the badge hasn't been reported lost or stolen. Q: Does a Day Pass get me into evening events? A: Day Passes are valid for the issuance day only and are not valid for evening events. Q: Will sessions and presentations be streamed or available for viewing after the conference? A: Keynotes and select Featured Sessions will be streamed live on sxsw.com/live during the event, and will then be offered for viewing for a period after the event. Q: How do I give feedback to SXSW Interactive? A: Email us at inter@sxsw.com or fill out a survey. We read these! See sxsw.com/rate for more information on rating.
