50 COMMERCIAL CARRIER JOURNAL | MARCH 2014 technology A s with many software developers, Telogis constantly gathers feedback from customers to determine what features and enhancements to include in the next version of its cloud-based fleet management platform. Telogis already has what could be considered a comprehen- sive platform with a product line of integrated applications that include dynamic routing, commer- cial navigation, advanced telematics, real-time work order management and mobile applications. Telogis says the new features in the latest release of its telematics applica- tion, Fleet 11, will help its customers more easily analyze and use data gath- ered from workers, vehicles and assets in the field. The new features are centered around three main areas: connected location intelligence, driver behavior and actionable analytics. Connected location intelligence. Telogis offers tools to connect mobile workers to the back office as well as to connect multiple parties to what is happening in the field. Fleet 11 has a mobile application that supervisors and operation managers can use to visualize their vehicles, assets and workers. It also supports Telogis Live 2.0, a location and data sharing tool that connects workers and assets shared by partners on one screen, allowing partners to share project information among multiple users for added productivity and operational efficiency. Driver behavior. Fleet 11 is designed to close the communi- cations and reporting loop with drivers through the integration of Telogis Coach, a mobile application that gives both drivers and back offices the same view of a driver behavior scorecard. Drivers can review their own behaviors and understand their successes and opportunities for improvement. The mobile application integrates with in-cab alerts that can be set up to trigger when certain events exceed the parameters defined in the scorecard. Actionable analytics. Fleet 11's alerts, dashboards and reports are designed to be more customizable to better understand how teams and ve- hicles are performing in the field. The new visual analytic tools and scripted alerts help provide more flexibility in reporting. Fleet 11 also has an enhanced Enterprise KPI Scorecard, a dashboard designed to allow a global view of key performance indicators with drill-down ability to find more specific information in areas like safety, utilization and route compliance. – Aaron Huff D rivewyze announced a free nationwide weigh station and inspection site alert service available without subscription to all truck drivers with the launch of PreClear 3.0, the newest version of its weigh station app, available from the Google Play store for Android smartphones or tablets. Drivers can use the app to receive advance notice of upcoming weigh stations and inspection sites. Users will get an audio and visual alert two miles and one mile before the weigh station, let- ting them know when to be in the correct lane and to slow down to pull into the station or inspection site if necessary. Users can download the free app and use it immediately with- out any obligation or time limits, and they don't have to create accounts to access the free alert service. The Drivewyze Weigh Station Heads Up service works in all 50 states and recognizes both permanent weigh stations and temporary inspection sites at more than 700 locations nationwide. Users can click a button in the app and start a 30-day free trial of the subscription-based Drivewyze PreClear weigh station by- pass service to request and receive bypass privileges at 252 weigh stations and inspection sites in 20 states. To register for the bypass service, company drivers or owner-operators enter their company's U.S. Department of Transportation number, license and truck VIN to satisfy most requirements for law enforcement to pull up the company's safety infor- mation to clear the trucker for bypass. Fleets also can have Drivewyze deployed on existing telematics devices. The bypass service is subscription-based and starts at $15.75 per vehicle per month. The initial release of the free heads-up service is available only for Android users, while the PreClear by- pass service remains available for both iOS and Android devices. PreClear now is available on PeopleNet's Tablet in-cab PC and Blu.2 onboard devices with a complementary weigh station cost-analysis tool, nationwide Weigh Station Heads Up notifica- tions and a bypass service subscription option. – Aaron Huff Telogis targets advanced telematics with Fleet 11 Drivers can use the DriveWyze app to receive advance notice of upcoming weigh stations and inspection sites to prepare ahead of time.
