RECRUITMENT 48 the Groundsman March 2014 Visit www.iog.org for more information and digital editions GROUNDSPERSON Wellington College is a prestigious independent co-educational day and boarding school standing in a beautiful 400 acre setting with more than 1000 pupils. We are currently looking for an experienced Groundsperson to join the team and report to the Head Groundsperson and Works & Estates Manager. The main purpose of the role will be to provide sports pitches to a high standard for the College and external use. Main duties will include: • Cricket pitch preparation and maintenance preferably to 1st XI or County standard • Mowing, Aeration and Fertilising: tractor mounted and pedestrian machinery • Line marking • Goal post erection, dismantling, storage and maintenance Some additional duties include snow clearing and roping off and preparing for College events. The successful candidate will have knowledge of preparing and maintaining cricket pitches and an understanding of setting out and initial marking of pitches. The candidate must be practical and skilful with the ability to communicate at a good level. As this is an active job role the successful candidate must be physically fit to be able to manage the job, machinery and equipment. NVQ qualified is essential.
