SXSW 2014 Music & Media Conference | 133 SXSW MUSIC FESTIVAL OVERVIEW OUTDOOR STAGE AT BUTLER PARK While Auditorium Shores undergoes renova- tions, we have moved our free and open to the public outdoor shows to the lovely Butler Park at Town Lake this year. Lineup includes three nights of showcases headlined by Foster the People, Childish Gambino, a very special trib- ute to Jimi Hendrix curated by Wayne Kramer, and more. There will be a shuttle and a special viewing area for badgeholders, as well as the non-profit row and Renegade Craft Fair (page 139). Butler Park at Town Lake is located just across Riverside Drive from Auditorium Shores, adjacent to the Palmer Events Center. FESTIVAL SCHEDULE The SXSW Music schedule includes thousands of events over 6 days - stay up to date and build your own schedule with the SXSW GO mobile app for iOS and Android devices. The SXSW Music Pocket Guide and Austin Chronicle Daily editions are also an easy go-to for updated Fest schedules. This guide includes schedules (page 145), an Artist Directory for easy access to a particular act's showcase info (page 163), and a map of our official venues (page 239). AUSTIN MUSIC AWARDS Wednesday, March 12th, 7:55pm sharp Austin Convention Center Ballroom D Founded by the Austin Chronicle, the Austin Music Awards has honored the best of the Austin music scene since 1982. Join us in Austin Convention Center Ballroom D for one of the highlight annual events here in Austin (page 137). SXSW RADIO DAY STAGE Wednesday, March 12 - Saturday, March 15 Austin Convention Center Ballroom D The SXSW Radio Day Stage is the place to grab a drink, connect to free wi-fi, and enjoy performances by showcasing artists like Phan- togram, Real Estate, Tennis and more between panels and workshops. Radio partners include: Radionica, KCRW, KCSN, KUTX, WFUV, WXPN, KXT, The Current and our own SXSWfm (page 105). SXSW INTERNATIONAL DAY STAGE Wednesday, March 12 - Saturday, March 15 Austin Convention Center Ballroom G Enjoy some of the most unique and diverse musical talents from across the globe at the International Day Stage! These acts have trav- eled thousands of miles from around the world, and you have the chance to check them out between conference sessions (page 105). SECOND PLAY STAGES Great music is everywhere during SXSW, even in your hotel! See which artists are performing on Second Play Stages this year, as well as our schedules, on page 141. SXXPRESS PASSES The SXXpress (South By Express) Pass allows badge holders to go straight to the front of the line at up to two SXSW venues per night. They do not guarantee entry to venues that are at capacity. You can pick up a SXXpress Pass on the upper level of the Austin Convention Center near Room 15. Passes are available day of show only and name on the pass must match the registration badge. (page 107). SXSW MUSIC SHOWCASES AT THE CARVER MUSEUM The Carver Museum is back as an official venue for SXSW Music! This year, Warriors Call Production is putting on the Kingdom Experience and Holy Hip Hop Symposium.
