Braden Atwood finished sixth at 197 pounds while Cam- den Eppert and Danny Sabatello both finished eighth at 125 and 141 pounds, respectively. Purdue finished in 11th place in the team standings with 34.5 points for the compe- tition. Penn State won its fourth consecutive conference title with 140.5 points, finishing just ahead of Iowa at 135 points. Minnesota rounded out the top three with 118.5 points. Quiroga and Atwood have earned automatic berths to this month's NCAA Championships, while Eppert and Sabatello are eligible for at-large bids, which will be announced in the coming week. The championships are March 20-22 in Oklahoma City. Purdue looked poised to pull the upset in Game 2, scoring in the third and fourth innings to go up 2-0. But the Tigers rallied late, scoring three times in the seventh and once more in the eighth to secure the victory. Fecho opened the weekend with a complete-game victory over Tennessee Tech, allowing two runs on seven hits and striking out 10 while walking none. She followed that performance with another complete-game victory over the Golden Eagles, this time scattering three hits in a shutout win, finishing with 10 more strikeouts. Fecho closed the weekend with another strong outing against No. 18 Geor- gia, allowing only three runs on four hits in a 3-2 loss to the Bulldogs. Fecho leads Purdue with 83 innings pitched, having 12 complete games in 13 starts. Fecho has a 2.95 earned-run average, boasting better than a 3:1 strikeout-to-walk ratio in 2014. Through last weekend's action, Fecho has a 6-7 record, due largely to a lack of run support. In Fecho's seven losses, Purdue averages only 1.14 runs per game and hasn't scored more than two runs in any of her losses. — Brandan Alford ... all the services ... all the food ... all the comfort ... all the fun YourWindow_GoldandBlack_August10_electronic.indd 1 8/20/2010 2:26:24 PM Purdue Cashé Quiroga was Purdue's highest-placing finisher at the Big Tens, coming in second.
