FOOTBALL RECRUITING ROUNDUP • Notre Dame leads for Bellflower, Calif., offen- sive guard Zach Robertson. UCLA and Washington round out his top three, but the Irish sit on top early in the recruitment of the four-star prospect. "I've been doing a little research on them, watch- ing them on YouTube and seeing their spring train- ing and the camps," said the 6-5, 308-pounder. "It looks like a good program." Per 247Sports, Robertson is the nation's No. 77 overall recruit, the No. 6 offensive guard in the country and the No. 12 prospect in California. • Shreveport, La., offensive tackle Jerry Tillery — who committed to Notre Dame on June 22, 2013 — has been rumored to have interest in looking at LSU, but the four-star recruit maintains that he's firm in his pledge to the Irish. "Notre Dame is a special place, and my family and I are still very excited about this opportunity," the 6-5, 315-pound prospect noted. "My parents grew up Notre Dame fans. It's surreal being committed there. It's really awesome for my childhood dream to come true." 247Sports ranks Tillery as the No. 83 overall player, the No. 7 offensive tackle in the nation and the No. 4 prospect in Louisiana in the 2015 class. • Oregon is the latest school to offer Corona, Calif., quarterback and Notre Dame commit Blake Barnett. Upon receiving word of the offer, the 6-3, 195-pound prospect maintained that he's solid in his commit- ment to the Irish. "I'm pretty set with Notre Dame, and I'm not looking around," he said. "I'll keep them [Oregon] in mind, but as of right now I'm committed to Notre Dame." Barnett is the No. 124 overall player in the nation, the No. 4 quarterback in the country and the No. 18 prospect in California in the 2015 class according to 247Sports. • Aledo, Texas, four-star wide receiver Ryan Newsome picked up an offer from Notre Dame March 13 and called it "big time." The 5-9, 173-pound prospect gave high praise to the University and the Irish look to be a major player in his recruitment. "It's such a prestigious school with great academics, and it's a great football program," Newsome said. "It's a true blessing to get that offer. I'm really looking into them. That's really a once in a lifetime offer. A lot of schools are so-so in football or so-so in academics, but Notre Dame is always good in both." 247Sports ranks Newsome as the No. 212 overall player in the land, the No. 24 wide receiver in the country and the No. 27 prospect in Texas in the 2015 class. — Tom Loy Follow @TomLoy247 on Twitter.
