Dye Your Own
Did you know many common ingredients your Mom and Dad
may have in the kitchen are great for coloring Easter eggs?
Check out what you have in your house already and ask your
parents to help you create naturally colored eggs!
CHOOSE YOUR COLORS
Add more or less of an ingredient to get lighter or darker colors!
Don't get sick from
eggs. Store hard-
boiled eggs in the

Divide uncooked eggs between
4 pans. Choose 4 dye colors and
add each dye ingredient to a pan.
Fill each pan with 1 cup water and
1 tablespoon white vinegar.
To make fun lines on your eggs, wrap
rubber bands around them.

stove. Bring water to a
boil then reduce heat
to low. Let simmer for
Remove one pan from the stove at
a time. Lift eggs out with a slotted
spoon and place in a bowl. Strain
dying liquid into the bowl so eggs
are completely covered. Repeat with
remaining pans and let eggs sit in
their bowls until the eggs are slightly
cooled off, about 30 minutes.
Once eggs are colored,
lift them out with a

When eggs are dry, remove rubber bands and enjoy
looking at your beautifully colored Easter eggs!
