The breadth and diversity of Halls's musical tastes are reflected in his inaugural season, which features: • Vespers by Monteverdi and Rachmaninoff. • Requiems by Mozart and Verdi. • A Creation Triple Bill in collaboration with the Eugene Ballet. • Bach oratorios and cantatas in our Discovery series. • Two soirées celebrating the 150th anniversary of Richard Strauss's birth. • A five-city tour by Monica Huggett and the Portland Baroque Orchestra. • A residency by the charismatic Venezuelan pianist Gabriela Montero. • A celebration of the music of Duke Ellington hosted by Jamie Bernstein. We also have guest appearances by Canadian Brass; His Majestys Sagbutts & Cornetts; trumpeter Guy Few; cellist Jonathan Manson; organ virtuoso Paul Jacobs; and Director Emeritus Helmuth Rilling. As we turn the page into this vibrant, new chapter for the OBF, I invite you to join us as we honor the past, cherish its legacy, and celebrate the future!
