  INSIDE MICHIGAN ATHLETICS MICHIGAN'S TOP OLYMPIC SPORTS PERFORMERS Baseball sophomore Travis Maezes: The Ann Arbor local and Pioneer High School graduate has been a solid leadoff hitter for the Wolverines this season, producing a .389 on-base percentage in 20 games through March 18. The shortstop was second on the team with a .313 average, first in runs (14), second in hits (25) and second in doubles (five). He was the team leader in stolen bases (seven) and home runs (two), while also sporting a .903 fielding percentage. Softball sophomore Sierra Lawrence: Michigan is off to a 19-6 start through March 18 thanks to its hot-hitting lineup — a .329 team average with 5.6 runs per game — and Lawrence has been key to that success. The sophomore outfielder was hitting .355 in 22 starts, while ranking second on the team in home runs (three) and RBI (27). She was sporting a .462 on-base percentage and a .581 slugging percentage, and had made just one error in 16 chances. Men's golf junior Noori Hyun: After a slow start in the fall in which he averaged 76.2 shots per round, the Seoul, Korea, native has been terrific this spring, carding a three-round 210 to tie for 12 th at the Puerto Rico Classic in late February and a three-round 215 to tie for eighth at the Lamkin San Diego Classic, March 9-11. In his three-year career, Hyun has now recorded five top-20 individual performances, three top-10 efforts and one top-five showing. He has led U-M at three events. Women's golf freshman Grace Choi: In the program's best team finish under first-year coach Jan Dowling — the Wolverines took fourth at the Clover Cup Invitational March 16 — Choi enjoyed a career weekend, placing second overall with a three-round, two- under-par 214. In seven events this season, Choi has averaged a team-best 75.3 strokes per round. She also leads the Maize and Blue with three top-25 individual performances this season. Water polo sophomore Presley Pender: One of 15 Californians on the Michigan roster, the Costa Mesa native led the Maize and Blue in points with 65 in 25 games through March 18. She also ranked second in goals with 34. A year ago, Pender contributed 38 goals and 35 helpers during her rookie season, and she is set to eas- ily eclipse those marks with a full six weeks left in her sophomore year.
