FOOTBALL RECRUITING
Ridley. Scottsdale (Ariz.) Saguaro
four-star Christian Kirk is the No.
23 overall prospect in the nation, but
he has not visited Ann Arbor — and
hasn't set up plans to do so. Cedar
Hill, Texas, wide receiver DaMarkus
Lodge is the No. 31 prospect nation-
ally and also looks unlikely to seri-
ously consider Michigan at this time.
Four-star Glassboro, N.J., wideout
Juwan Johnson, on the other hand, is
very high on Michigan. Despite not
seeing campus yet, the No. 130 over-
all player and No. 13 wide receiver
nationally includes the Maize and
Blue in his top five. So does Randle-
man, N.C., four-star Juval Mollette,
the No. 190 overall player and No.
23 wide receiver in the nation. Unlike
Johnson, however, Mollette does not
have plans for an eventual visit to
Michigan.
Saginaw (Mich.) Heritage athlete
Brian Cole could be U-M's best shot
for an elite wide receiver — unless
he would prefer to play safety in col-
lege. The top in-state player is the
No. 9 "athlete" and No. 99 overall
prospect in the country, and at 6-2,
205 pounds, he could play either side
of the ball successfully in college.
While Michigan's preference
would be to re-secure a commitment
from each of the former pledges, the
options are available to replace them
if the stars don't align properly. ❏

all player in the nation by Rivals.com, has U-M in his top five.
