I know I am looking forward to seeing old friends and making new ones at the Annual Symposium in Marble Falls. Drs. Glen Blodgett and Bo Brock have put together an exciting program featuring Ted Stashak who will be speaking about wound healing; Eric Mueller, Michelle Barton, and Jared Williams from the University of Georgia will be speaking about colic; and there will be an equine dental wet lab sponsored by Powerfloat. In addition to the scientific lectures, we will again feature table topics and panels relevant to practitioners in Texas, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Louisiana, and Arkansas. Currently we are taking submissions for TEXAS TAKES. Do you have a good idea or unique way of solving a problem? Share it with your colleagues at the meeting. Presentations should be less than 15 minutes and provide the audience with something they can take home that day and implement the next. At the conclusion of the lectures, the audience will vote on the best presentation and the winner will receive an iPad. Despite having world class speakers, what makes this meeting truly unique is you. When the best equine veterinary minds in the state gather for a meeting, I find it impossible to not learn something, whether from a solo practitioner, a board certified specialist, or a mixed animal practitioner. I hope you share that sentiment and are marking your calendar for August 7–9. We will be back in the Horseshoe Bay Resort, so bring the family, a fishing pole, and an open mind. 2014 Summer SympoSium AuguST 7–9, 2014 HORSESHOE BAy RESORT, MARBlE FAllS, TExAS save the date! connect wth uS:
