rv-pro.com April 2014 • RV PRo • 95 Searer Commits to Remain at RV/MH Hall of Fame for Two More Years RV/MH Hall of Fame President Darryl Searer has agreed to continue leading the Hall for an additional two years, according to Barry Cole, chairman of the Board. In August, Searer will take on the additional responsibilities of chairman of the Board when Cole's term expires. Searer currently serves as president and treasurer. Despite suffering a heart attack in 2013 and undergoing quadruple bypass heart sur- gery, Searer said he is up to the challenge. Searer volunteered on a non-compensation basis for two years in March 2012 to help restructure the Hall financially to ensure its future success. rough a series of belt-tightening measures, reorganization and re-branding of the Event Center, renegotiation of financial obligations with major creditors and some inno- vative fundraisers, the RV/MH Hall of Fame, under Searer's leadership, has managed to lower its debt from more than $5.5 million to approximately $2.5 million. Searer's goal is for the Hall to be debt-free by 2020, if not before. Searer Whitley to Handle Dutchmen Mfg. NW Sales for Coleman Products Terry Whitley has joined Dutchmen Manufacturing Inc. of Goshen, Ind., as regional sales manager for the company's north- western territory. Whitley is responsible for increasing market penetration and sales efforts of Coleman travel trailers in Wyoming, Montana, Idaho, northern Oregon, Washington, Alaska, British Columbia, Alberta and Saskatchewan. Whitley comes to Dutchmen after nine years in the industry, where he most recently served as regional sales manager for a competitive line of lightweight travel trailers. Heartland Names Montague GM for Landmark Fifth Wheel Line Heartland RV has hired industry veteran Tom Montague as gen- eral manager for the company's Landmark luxury fifth wheel line. Landmark is the Elkhart, Ind.-based builder's flagship brand, launched when Heartland was formed in the fall of 2003. Montague, 43, entered the RV arena in 2003, serving as a ter- ritory sales manager for Keystone RV Co.'s Cougar and Montana divisions while working alongside Chris Hermon, named as Heart- land president in May 2012. For the past four years, Montague has focused solely on the residential fifth wheel sector, working for Carriage Inc. before co-founding Redwood RV in August 2010.
