GROUNDSPERSON with minibus driving (To start as soon as possible) We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic Groundsperson to assist a team of staff looking after 400 acres of parkland and sports facilities. Applicants must have good communication skills and the ability to work on their own initiative. Hours: 40 hour week, normally 8.00am – 4.30pm Salary range: £17,000 to £19,000 (Negotiable for a suitable applicant who is capable of progression in the role) Additionally, it is desirable that applicants will be able to act as a minibus driver, either responsible for morning and afternoon College transport, and/or additional driving duties when required. A clean driving licence is essential, either PCV (D1) licence, or car driving licence issued before 1997. Additional payment will be made at the College's minibus hourly rate. They sit in a beautiful 170 acre site with 230 pupils at Brookham aged between 3 and 7 years old, and Highfield with 270 pupils aged between 8 and 13 years old, with about 100 boarding. The Schools are looking for an experienced Head Groundsman to lead the team with a focus on the maintenance and improvement of the sports pitches, woodland, lawns, beds and formal areas. The candidate must be practical, technically competent and the position requires a focus on development of the playing pitches and cricket in particular. The role requires excellent communication skills and the ability to establish good working relationships with the Grounds team and the wider School community. The hours of work are 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday with occasional weekends for special events. The salary will be dependent upon qualifications and experience.
