May 2014 n Performance & Hotrod Business n 109 In-Tank Power Modules Fuelab, Litchfield, Ill., presents its Prodigy In-Tank Power Modules that bring the company's external fuel pump technology inside the fuel tank, easier than before. Developed for racing and capable for street use, the fuel systems can provide fuel for up to 1,800 hp. Power Modules, like all Prodigy Fuel Pumps, are compatible with gasoline, E85, methanol or diesel fuels and they can be coupled with Fuelab's electronic fuel pressure regulator, bringing high-flow capacity with automatic-demand speed control with no pro- gramming, calibration or additional control boxes. Audi & VW Control Arms Steinjäger Inc., Bushnell, Ill., introduces a new family of Audi and VW Control Arms that fit directly into the stock spindle. The design is made possible by special rod end studs that are staked/ swaged directly into the bore of chromoly spherical rod ends. The new designs fit the 1996-2008 Audi A4, 1998-2004 Audi A6, 2007- '08 Audi RS4 and Audi S4 models. Silverado High-Flow Intake K&N Engineering, Riverside, Calif., introduces a High-Flow Intake System for 2014 Chevy Silverado 5.3-liter applications that increases performance by 11 hp at 5,341 rpm. The system replaces the Silverado's original intake assembly including the air box, air filter and intake tube with an all-new intake design. The new system draws air through a K&N High-Flow Air Filter that increases airflow and never needs to be replaced. Protecting the chrome top cone-shaped air filter, and isolating it from engine heat, is a powder-coated steel heat shield. Carburetor Heat Insulators AUTOMOTION Hot Rod Carbs, Great Falls, Mont., introduces its line of premium Carburetor Heat Insulator Shields and Spacers for all popular makes and models of automotive 2-barrel carbure- tors (4-barrel and 1-barrel applications to follow). The insulators minimize heat sink issues by using a proprietary patented material, and the shields and spacers are black for an OEM appearance. Each shield or spacer is a 1/4-inch-thick for applications with limited hood clearance, and can be used individually or in stacked configurations for greater insulating properties. LS Crank Scrapers Improved Racing Products, Orlando, introduces a line of Engine Crankshaft Scrapers for GM LS and Vortec V-8 engines. The crank scrapers help reduce oil starvation by closely contouring the crankshaft to remove excess oil, ensuring more oil makes it to the bottom of the sump. Crank scrapers also help reduce parasitic drag and windage losses caused by excess oil on the crank, resulting in a typical horsepower gain of 2-4 hp at the wheels. Two models are offered initially— a universal model, and one designed spe- cifically for 1998-2002 LS1 Camaros and Firebirds. Cadillac Script Valve Covers PML Inc., Inglewood, Calif., presents its Cadillac Script Valve Covers for 1960- '86 Chevy small-blocks applications. The script replicates the 1949 Cadillac logo. The covers are made from heavy-duty sand-cast aluminum for strength and durability and clear most roller rockers. They are offered in natural (as-cast), black powder-coat or polished finishes and allow for PCV, oil fill, and breathers. Gas Tanks for Fuel Injection Classic Performance Products, Placentia, Calif., offers its Original Style Gas Tanks for 1955-'66 Chevy full-size, 1962-'72 Nova, 1967-'73 Camaro and 1964-'72 Chevelle and El Camino fuel-injected applications. The fuel injection-ready tanks fea- ture built-in trays and appropriate fittings, and require no modifications to mount. The kits include all the necessary pieces to mount to the vehicle, and pumps and sending units are also available. Diesel Pistons Wiseco Performance Products, Mentor, Ohio, presents its new line of Diesel Pistons, developed through extensive testing and consultation with leading diesel experts. The pistons are created on dedicated forg- ings designed around the OE connecting rod to maximize pin contact and minimize pin bending and forging distortion. Wiseco's ArmorPlating hardens the ring grooves and deck area of the piston, while 1/16-inch ring grooves provide engine builders with many ring choices. Skirt coatings reduce friction, noise, and wear. Work Truck Tires Mickey Thompson Performance Tires & Wheels, Stow, Ohio, introduces the all-terrain Baja ATZP3 tire with PowerPly three-ply sidewalls for work truck appli- cations. The Baja ATZP3 combines design elements, tire technology and engineering to deliver traction at the worksite and in mud and snow. Stone ejector ribs help protect the tread from stones and cracking, and the three-ply sidewalls are tough and puncture-resistant. Features include a quieter ride and added response. php?item=BajaATZP3 PHBMAY.indd 109 4/2/14 2:08 PM
