But the Buckeyes (25-3 overall, 9-0) secured a 4-3 victory to ruin Purdue's per- fect weekend and clinch at least a share of the conference title. Purdue (15-4, 7-2) opened the week- end with a 5-2 victory over Indiana be- fore a one-sided 6-1 win over No. 16 Penn State. While a bit of a long shot, the Boil- ermakers still have an outside chance at a piece of the Big Ten title. Purdue will need wins over Michigan State and Michigan on the road this weekend and the Buckeyes must lose both of their final two matches of the season. The women's team earned a split on the weekend, defeat- ing Penn State, 6-1 before fall- ing 5-2 at Ohio State. Purdue (10-8, 6-3) returns home this weekend against Michigan State on Satur- day before host- ing Michigan on Sunday. Boilers Team wiTh hoosiers for Border BaTTle vicTories Rivals be- came team- mates, if only for a day, last weekend in the Border Battles in Louisville as the Purdue and Indiana track and field squads teamed up to defeat Louisville and Kentucky on both the men's and women's sides. The Indiana men's team won 125-72 and the women secured the Hoo- sier state sweep with a 114-85 advantage.
