47 BUSY, BUSY, BUSY Chapter Seven T hat next week, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday were long training days, and with the time change from Louisiana to California, it made the days seem even longer for me. On Wednesday July 11, 2007, after a long day, I went to dinner with a few co-workers before returning to my hotel. I didn't realize how late it was. It was 10 pm in California but that meant it was midnight in Memphis. I thought about calling my daughter, too, who was vacationing in Houston, Texas with a few old sorority sisters, but I knew she was going to a concert and it was already midnight there, too. I normally never went a whole day without talking or texting my kids but the day had just slipped away. I sat watching TV for a few minutes when suddenly I felt short a breath. I was thinking, "what's wrong with me?" I stood up to walk around my hotel room. The feeling would not go away. I was so nervous, sweating, and I was short of breath. I was having a panic attack of some sort. I wanted to pick up the phone and call my husband and kids to make sure everything was all right, but I glanced over at the clock and I remember it was10:50 pm, that meant almost 1 in the morning where my family was.
