79 THE STRENGTH TO GET UP EACH DAY Chapter Fifteen And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose. – Romans 8:28 (NASB) T hrough days of intense pain, I will try to think about how God uses every situation and tragedy for the good. How can this be good? Romans 8:28 clearly says "God causes all things to work together for good . . ." All things includes the untimely passing of a child or loved one, as incredible as they may seem, but that's where faith comes in. When I look back now, I see how many people God used to get me through and now I see how this has impacted their lives for the good, too. Moving through the depression I also had to deal with others wanting to help me in some way. It's not easy; it's not fun. I real- ly prefer to be the person helping and in control, so this alone was extremely difficult for me to deal with. I had to graciously accept their offers to help while wanting to just curl up in a ball and cry out to Bryant to come back home.
