86 I believe God sends every person in our life to us for a purpose and not by accident. I do believe it was meant for me to meet Christy, who I have never seen again since that day. I look at some mothers and I see the pain on their face just standing in a room and think, is this how I look? Can everyone see my heart? I knew my son would want me to be the best I could be but that confidence came in time, not right away. You will find your own comfort, whether it's through establishing a scholarship in their name, placing a plaque on the wall at their school, having a quilt made from all their clothing or just any ac- tivity that consumes our time and keeps our mind busy. It could be reading "grief" books to survive, writing our thoughts in a journal, making crafts, playing the piano, listening to music, planting a gar- den, walking along the beach, counseling, church or just praying. Looking for an outlet is completely normal, and finding a way to preserve a child's memory is also perfectly normal.
