YOU SET BPITCH CONTROL UP IN 1999, AND IT HAS GONE FROM STRENGTH TO STRENGTH, WHAT HAS BEEN YOU ETHOS OVER THE YEARS WHICH HAS SEEN YOU RISE TO THE TOP AND CONSISTENTLY REMAIN THERE? It just feels good what I am doing. It's natural, my passion for music and networking with designers, musicians, clubs and people worldwide. My life has a long red line and my passion is even bigger now. Because there is history and I can look back and forth...it's also much more comfortable to travel today and the clubs are very professional. Back in the days it wasn't like this. Now we are a big community and no one can take over the complete control... which is very important to keep moving. YOU ARE CONSTANTLY INJECTING FRESH TALENT IN TO THE MUSIC SCENE, HOW DO YOU FIND YOUR ARTISTS BESIDES It just happens because artists are contacting bpc - or we are getting in touch with them because we are fans. At the bpitch control office are working big music lovers, art designers, video makers, writers... The scene makes us working here hard cause we love it. Sure sometimes if you are watching the sales it's hard too many music for free is floating around. WHAT HAS THE LABEL GOT IN STORE FOR 2014? The dillon album just came out - dougals greed -anrgy mamma / albums and many singles...vinyl only edits or digital releases... just now came out a garry todd single. It's the bomb!!! I play it all the time :-) check out here: www.bpitchcontrol.de YOU LOVE FASHION JUST AS MUCH AS MUSIC HOWS YOUR CLOTHING LABEL GOING? I am doing Ellen Allien T-shirts, selling them in few shops (ibiza revoler / berlin apartment / london 127 bricklane) Here you can find all the T-shirts: www.ellenallien.de. WHATS THE FUNNIEST THING THAT YOU HAVE WITNESSED WHILST PERFORMING? Funniest is if the crowd becomes one and has fun together in front of me taking shirts of, jumping, smiling, dancing crazy together with smiley faces. This is pure happiness which looks very funny from the Dj boot. I REMEMBER WHEN YOU PLAYED IN LONDON AND DID AN 8 HOUR SET, DO YOU GET DO MANY SETS THAT ARE LONGER THAN 2-3 HOURS? Ohh yes. Was a great venue, amazing event, I loved it. Sometimes I am doing all night long sets, no problem. Last time I did it in Bologna with 2000 people. Massive great night. I could play all the history of tech acid house and testing the unreleased stuff. Long sets are great to improvise, I do it already but then even more. YOU ARE BACK IN THE UK ON 25TH MAY FOR WE ARE FSTVL ALONG SIDE DOP (LIVE), GUY GERBER, MISS KITTIN AND MORE, WHAT ARE YOUR 3 GREATEST FESTIVAL MOMENTS THAT YOU CAN VIVIDLY REMEMBER? Melt close to berlin / movement in Turin and Detroit / bloc England !!! IF YOU HAD TO MAKE A NEW GENRE OF DANCE MUSIC WHAT WOULD YOU CALL IT? Boogie bytes IF YOU NEVER WENT DOWN MUSIC ROAD, WOULD YOU HAVE BEEN A FASHION DESIGNER? No. I stopped my fashion design school because it was boring doing it every day. I prefer music, I choose music because it makes me happy. YOU ARE A PRETTY DOWN TO EARTH PERSON, WHAT DO YOU DO IN YOUR SPARE TIME WHEN YOU ARE NOT TOURING ETC? Kissing, loving working at bpitch contro. Eating good, meeting friends. Just staying home watching the sky, doing yoga, relaxing... IF YOU WERE BANISHED TO A DESERT ISLAND AND HAD TO TAKE 3 FAMOUS PEOPLE WITH YOU (DEAD OR ALIVE), WHO WOULD YOU TAKE AND WHY? Markus Stich, my best friend , and menswear fashion designer -he is the best person I met in my life, Laurie Anderson because she is my hero I would love to spend time with her, she is very gentle she loves humans and she has the magic touch, and Kate Moss to get drunk together :-) Catch Ellen Alien at WE ARE FSTVL on Sunday 25th May 2014 Ellen Alien has been representing all things techno since the early 90s when she entered the DJ circuit.
