The celebration, held every other year by the CDVF, supports the nonprofi t in providing spiritual and fi nancial support for the Dominican novices studying to become priests and brothers at the Do- minican Novitiate house of formation in Denver. The focal point of the celebration will be the Windows to the Divine art exhibit and sale featuring more than 80 original works of sacred art from 57 artists representing Christian, Jewish and Native American traditions. Through art, the CDVF aims to promote interfaith dialogue and the voca- tions of the artists and the Dominican or- der. They believe artists are inspired by the divine and have a special vocation to bring beauty into the world and thereby promote the good, according to a CDVF statement. Since 2011 they have helped educate 19 novices at the Dominican novitiate, who minister in the Church serving the poor, sick, elderly and youth at Samaritan House homeless shelter, Mullen Home for the Aged, St. Vincent de Paul School and Escuela de Guadalupe. The gala opening, which will include light supper and cocktails, will be held at ArtHaus at 3343 Larimer St. beginning at 6:30 p.m. May 17. Tickets range from $75 to $150 per person. "Visually it's more impactful to see the whole student body praying for the building, praying for one another. It's the feel of that embrace." He said a blessing over the school after students recited a part of the rosary. Father Espino asked God to keep the children safe and make the school a place of learning. "We dedicate this building to the education of youth and learning," he prayed. "Make it become a center where students and teachers build on the words of truth, strive with their whole heart to stand by Christ and live Christ as their teacher. Grant that students and teachers alike may follow Jesus Christ, the way the truth and the life, forever and ever." The prayer circle followed the all- school May Crowning. Hattenbach said she wants to expand the prayer around the perimeter to in- clude the neighboring church. "I think the more presence we have, the more it'll catch on," she said.
