BY JULIE FILBY Two teams from Regis Jesu- it High School Boys Division emerged victorious in 5A state championships May 17 as the Raiders' swimmers and divers, as well as the lacrosse squad, capped off dominant seasons with state trophies. The Regis Jesuit swim and dive team earned their fourth consecutive state title, and 21st overall since 1992, with a score of 410 at Veterans Memorial Aquatic Center in Thornton. The team was led this year by former assistant, now head coach, Nick Fraser - smith, who took over for Mike Doherty, who stepped down after 32 seasons and 20 state championships. RJHS senior Hennessey Stuart was named Colorado High School Activ - ities Association Swimmer of the Year. Kyle Goodwin, junior, claimed his third consecutive state championship in diving. The No. 2 seeded Regis Jesuit lacrosse team (18-1) defeated the No. 1 seed, Cherry Creek Bruins (15-4), with a score of 14-7 at Sports Authority Sta- dium at Mile High to win the 5A title. It was the team's sec- ond state championship since 2011, under the leadership of head coach Jim Soran. Juniors Matt Soran and Chet Dunstan led the offense with five and four goals, respectively. Junior goalkeeper Brett Quartuccio made 19 saves on 26 shots for the Raiders.
